Horsin’ Around! Camp
The 6th Annual Horsin’ Around camp is fun for boys and girls ages 6-14. Activities include horse-related fun, such as basic riding instruction, educational centers, guest visitors, plus science and educational centers, arts and crafts, and a nature center, recreation, and a river walk. Our camp is hosted by Beechwood Farm, ownded by Robin and Jay Lanham. Robin is a school counselor and 7-year leader of the Rixeyville Riders horse 4-H club. Jay is a Police Major who enjoys farming in his spare time.
Our cam p allows children to meet many animal friends, such as ponies and horses, dogs, cats, chickens and Clyde-the extra large Brahma rooster.

Belle Meade Camps
Day Camp on a 138-acre farm near Sperryville offers an active, outdoor program for ages 6-13. Campers swim, hike in Shenandoah National Park, and canoe in the pond. Transportation is provided from Amissville, Culpeper, and Madison. Five two-week sessions: June 10-21, June 24 – July 5, July 8-19, July 22-August 2 and August 5-16
Swim Camp, ages 4-7, June 10-14, July 8-12, and July 22-26, 9:15am – 1:15pm. Swimming, crafts, play time.

Fauquier County Parks and Recreation
Summer Camps and Aquatic Programs. With camps in all regions of FauquierCounty, and in a wide variety of areas, there is sure to be something for every child’s interest. Registration opens March 11th. Camps include dance, baseball, softball, robotics, basketball, fishing, variety sports and volleyball. Fresta Valley Christian School
Our week-long camps are held throughout the summer for kids ages 4 – 12. Camp is held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday through Friday at Fresta Valley Christian School. Before/After Care is available from 7 – 9 a.m. and 3 – 5 p.m. Transportation is offered from Marshall, Haymarket, and Warrenton, VA.
Summer Camp program includes: Lego Robotics, Creeping Crawling Critters, Become a Junior Scientist and Wild West.

Sweet Briar College Riding Trip – we will take horses, stay in the dorms, eat at the dining hall, have two riding lessons each day, (one with Mimi Wroten, Director of Riding at Sweet Briar) See sbc.edu/riding for information on the facility. June 17 – 21. For Intermediate to Advanced riders, ages 10-16. Fee $1750.
Full Day Adventure Camp – No camp out. July 8-12, ages 6-11. Fee $450.
Full Day Adventure Camp-with a Thursday-night campout and Friday noon pickup. July 15-19, July 22-26. Ages 8-12. Fee $500.
Full Day Equestrian Camp-For Novice to Intermediate Riders, ages 6-15. July 29 – August 2. Fee $450.
Half Day Equestrian Camp – For Beginners to Novice Riders, ages 5-9. August 5-9. Fee $275.

Hearthstone School Summer Camps
Summer Day Camp
This exciting, Waldorf-inspired program includes a wide range of activities to awaken creativity and enliven the child’s understanding of nature. Activities include storytelling, watercolor painting, beeswax sculpture, candle making, rhythmic movement and dance, water play, cooperative games, felting, basketry, beadwork, paper making, drumming, instrument making, baking, art from nature and nature walks. Each Friday, campers give a presentation of the week’s fun-filled activities.
Camp runs from July 29 – August 2 and August 5 – August 9, from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M., for children ages 3 to 12. Campers are divided into three groups: ages 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.

Mountain Adventures Camps
These camps with instructor Aron Weisgerber focus on exciting and educational outdoor activities for a variety of ages and skill levels.
Camp for ages 4-8 will be held from June 17th-21st and 24th-28th. Activities include swimming, hiking, climbing wall, wildlife and plant identification, games, crafts and building children’s comfort levels with the outdoors.
Camp for ages 8-12 will be held from July 8-12. Activities will include those listed above, plus group problem-solving, survival skills, and low ropes-course elements. If possible, we will go rock climbing in George Washington National Forest.
Backpacking Camp for ages 13-17 will be held from July 15-19th, including group problem solving, initiatives, low ropes-course activities, trip planning, back-country living skills, backpacking technique and group dynamics. Four days and three nights will be spent backpacking at Shenandoah National Park.

Digital Arts Camp for kids ages 7-15. Featuring hands-on learning, the latest technology, and low student-to-staff ratio, LFCC’S Digital Arts Camps give your child the tools to take part in high-tech adventures. Weekly half-day camps are held at Lord Fairfax Community College campus in Warrenton and Middletown. Camps run from end of June to mid-August.

Mountain Laurel Montessori School
Camps for children from 16 months through 12 years. Half-day, full-day and extended care options for children 3 years and older (7:30 AM – 5:30 PM). Equestrian Day Camp designed for boys and girls, ages 3-12. Each camp session runs Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm. Sessions begin June 17 and end August 16. Cost $325/week. Students benefit from a small, intensive program designed to give quality riding time to students as they also learn the practical and fun side of horses. Mounted lessons, instruction and demonstrations/lectures on horse care (pulling manes, clipping, bandaging, etc.), horse management (feeding, grooming, etc.) and equine theory. Wakefield School, located in The Plains offers a wide array of fun summer camps for ages 3 and up, as well as academic courses for grades 8 and above. Summer camps begin weekly on June 17 and run through July 26.Wakefield School’s summer camp program has been developed to reinforce the school’s focus on excellence in education, enrichment in the arts and sciences, and development of each child’s self worth and compassion for others.
The program’s goals are the growth and development of mind and body as well as the providing of an outlet for recreation and fun over the summer months.
The Wakefield summer programs are created and run by many of our own faculty as well as people from our community. We offer a wide range of activities for children ages 3 and up.
